May 8, 2014 Temecula Valley Rose Society Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Bonnie Bell, Phyllis Bettelheim, Frank Brines, Jeanne Brubaker,  Barb Purdy, Ron Rumbold, Kathy Turgeon,  Lenore Vogel, Rebecca Weersing,

Meeting called to order at 10:00 AM  by  President Frank Brines

Minutes of April, 2014 meeting approved as read

Kathy T contacted American Public Gardens  and local media re: National Public Garden Day (May 8) Garden will be open for tours

Steve B. informed the Board of issues involved with electronic donations-Finance Committee determined club will not participate

Rose show a success and within budget

Macy's Shop for a Cause booklets passed out to Board members

Jim M. presented suggestions for future Rose Show planning

Frank will arrange meeting with Maria P. re: fund raiser Committee members: Ron, Sochi, Frank, Wayne, Phyllis -

Rose Haven tour brochure - Wayne collecting information

 Fund raising meal at Richie's Diner on June 19

Ron will prepare an updated organization chart

SWOT  revisited May 16 at 10 AM- also Rose Show planning structure and three year goals.  All Board Members .  Frank will e-mail location

Kathy T will obtain a Temecula Valley Rose Society stamp

Rose Haven Committee will prepare a grant request to submit to County

Finance committee will discuss obtaining TVRS subscription to Valley News and ARS Magazine subscription for local library

We will prepare a proposal for sponsorship of Rose Haven to be presented to Pechanga. Still under development

Shop for a Cause booklets need to be passed out to members
