Our Society has many committees and sub-committees. If you are interested in attending a committee meeting please send an e-mail or call the committee chair to verify the time and place of the meeting. Sometimes changes are necessary and we wouldn't want you to make an unnecessary trip! Note: There are no committee meetings in July.
The Board of Directors meets on the second Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. Meetings are held at Atria Vintage Hills, 41780 Butterfield Stage Rd., Temecula. For current location information email us at RosehavenTemecula@gmail.com or by phone at 951-526-7436. Members are welcome to attend Board meetings.
The Finance Committee meets on the Tuesday prior to the Board of Directors meeting. Most months this will be the second Tuesday of the month, but occasionally it will be the first Monday of the month. Contact Bonnie Bell at
RosehavenTemecula@gmail.com for the location.
The Finance Committee is tasked with monitoring the financial health of the Society, budgeting, ways & means, grants, donations and endowments and planned gifting. The song "Money Makes the World Go Round" says it all for this committee. To achieve the mission of the Society we need to work together to provide the funds to insure things happen for many years to come.
The Rose Haven Planning Committee will meet at Rose Haven Garden (
30592 Jedediah Smith Rd., Temecula)
on the last Wednesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. For more information email here: RosehavenTemecula@gmail.com
The Youth Gardening — Tree of Life: This committee meets with the Chaparral High School Green Thumbs Leadership Team on selected dates at Chaparral HS. The student volunteers are interested in working in the Rose Haven garden, fundraising for the garden, and creating awareness about the garden. The YGToL Committee will mentor the students to develop their gardening skills and leadership skills. Attendance is limited so email RosehavenTemecula@gmail.com for more information and to make a reservation.
Youth Gardening — Families in the Garden: This active committee plans gardening and nature programs for children and families. We meet monthly on the first Wednesday, (except for Dec., July and August), to plan our third Saturday public programs. Our planning meetings begin at 10 AM and end at noon. The committee then meets at Rose Haven Heritage Garden on the third Saturday from 9:30-10:30 to meet children and parents and lead them in a variety of fascinating hands-on activities. For more information contact: Alicia Cline at 951-234-2218.
Communications Committee: This committee was formed to help TVRS utilize and learn about ways to promote our organization and Rose Haven in our community and beyond.
We are exploring and learning about the various ways to promote our club and garden. One challenge we face is how to effectively use social media and high tech options to advertise our programs. Fortunately, we already have in place our own eNewsletter; www.temeculavalleyrosesociety.org. Another challenge is to make good use of our local newspaper, news publications, and printed fliers.
If you are interested in sharing expertise, have ideas that would help promote our garden and club, or want to learn about the current technology of communication please join us for this fascinating journey. Our meetings are scheduled to follow the general TVRS meeting on the third Thursdays in the Temecula library on Pauba Road.
